Job Summary:

We are seeking a candidate with a passion for aerospace to join our team within the Hot Section Engineering Module Center. We are located in East Hartford Connecticut and have an opening for Master Technician, Drafting/Product Definition (Design Technician) person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineer(s) to develop Hot Section Jet Engine parts. (Ex/ Combustor/Diffuser, Turbine parts including Airfoils, Turbine Exhaust and Nozzles)
  • Verify complete accuracy of parametric 3D Siemens NX models and definition. Definition could be 2D associative drawing definition or Model Based Definition (MBD) as required.
  • Ensure accurate part interrelationships through tolerance and geometric studies.
  • Participate on IPT's as Product Definition delegate.
  • Prepare/Maintain various product related Teamcenter/NX Manager data in support of PW Class I and II Engineering activities.
  • Act as mentor/coach and provide training to lower-level Product Definition practitioners.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant Product Definition experience. (Certification may be required for technical support roles).
  • 5+ years' prior relevant Product Definition experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in NX and Team Center tools and processes
  • Strong communication and teaming skills
  • Experience in Turbine Airfoils is a plus.
  • An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • Proficient with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney. To help sure up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement. We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 125,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
