In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including troubleshooting complex electronics, creating and assembling wire harnesses, and performing test validation and documentation. What You Will Do

  • Apply your expertise in fundamental electrical skills by reading and interpreting schematics, diagrams, and BOMs, while confidently using advanced test equipment to perform diagnostics and assessments.
  • Perform Installs, tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electronic, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and pressure type measuring and indicating instruments and associated signal conditioning, including thermocouples and pressure transducers.
  • Leverage proven soldering experience with both Surface Mount and Through Hole components, with an understanding of IPC Standards to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Troubleshoot electronic assemblies using essential tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and voltmeters to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Master wiring practices to create reliable, high-quality wire harnesses and equipment wiring that meet strict safety and operational standards.
  • Work independently in a lab environment, demonstrating initiative, precision, and accountability with minimal supervision.
  • Ensures development test equipment is working properly by troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing defective parts as necessary.
  • Perform mechanical assembly and efficiently use hand and power tools to complete various technical tasks as required.
  • Communicate effectively through strong written and verbal communication, ensuring accurate technical documentation and effective collaboration with team members.
  • Utilize computer skills to troubleshoot systems at the hardware level.
  • Assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models for testing and development, supporting engineering initiatives.
  • Employ crimping tools to build wire harnesses, ensuring accuracy and reliability in every project.
  • Program microcontrollers using engineering tools, enhancing system functionality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot full electronic systems, identifying and resolving issues to ensure system integrity and optimal functionality.
  • Occasional overtime and working 2nd Shift will be required.
  • Employees are required to sit or stand for extended periods and may be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel up to 10%

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Certification may be required for technical support roles
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Associate degree in Electronics or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in an EMC test laboratory environment.
  • Fundamental Electrical Skill, such as reading schematics, diagrams BOMs, and working with test equipment etc.
  • Soldering Experience of both Surface Mount and Through Hole Components, knowledge of IPC Standards a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies utilizing multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge with good wiring practices to create wire harness and equipment Wiring.
  • Assembles experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype model
  • Utilizes crimping tools to build wire harness.
  • Ability to utilize engineering tools to program microcontrollers
  • Experience Troubleshooting full electronic systems and test stands.

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 126,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
