This role is for a Manufacturing Engineering professional who works independently implementing manufacturing processes and changes to improve products and reduce costs. This engineer maintains the performance of an assembly line with Operations, Quality, and Design functions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Design and modify small cell or simple assembly lines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

  • Create, pitch, and implement capital projects.


  • Design the sequence of larger and more complex operations and installations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes, including disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance.


  • Design and implement complex manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production.


  • Monitor and ensure mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards.


  • Identify opportunities or implement changes, on a need basis, to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.


  • Audit manufacturability of existing products, and recommends modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.


  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Such design and development may include new or revised processes.


  • Develop procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.


  • Conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.


  • Review field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment.


  • Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.


  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.


  • Work 2nd shift schedule - Monday-Thursday 3PM to 1:30AM.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.


  • 2+ years' experience as an industrial or manufacturing engineer.


  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Project management experience.


  • Organizational skills and the ability to effectively identify and prioritize.


  • Statistical Process Control, DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma preferred.


  • Ability to work with CAD tools and 3D printing preferred.


  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (ACE, 6S, etc.).


  • Proficiency in SAP.


  • ProE Modeling experience.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
