Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment; including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats.
Job Description:
Participate in multi-disciplinary research and collaboration with engineers and customers in the implementation of single board computer based networking devices. Determine user needs, select hardware based on desired operational characteristics, storage capacity, processing speed, and inputs/output requirements. Use a variety of operating systems and compilers. Troubleshoot network performance issues.
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship
Must have at least a current active SECRET clearance
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of the Linux OS
Hands-on experience with architecture, implementation and operation of a Linux-based compute environment
Basic TCP/IP networking
Python
BASH/Shell Scripting
C/C++
Embedded system design
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, writing skills, and professional image
Ability to multi-task
Self-starter with minimal supervision
Attention to detail and follow-through when completing tasks
Ability to plan, schedule, and arrange activities in accomplishing objectives
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to display tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with all levels of Raytheon Technologies employees and Customers
Must be able to obtain and maintain all access as required by the programs.
Desired Skills:
Open source tools such as buildroot and yocto project
Small board computers (including Arduino and Raspberry Pi)
Microcontrollers
ATMEL studio or Arduino integrated development environment (IDE)
Knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.
Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols
Application of VPN technology

Experience working with Cloud Providers such as AWS, Rackspace, and Microsoft Azure, etc is a plus
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.
Experience may qualify in lieu of degree.

Typically requires:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
