Raytheon's Life Cycle Engineering Organization is currently seeking a temporary Lead Drafter for its Construction Engineering Group. This individual will provide drafting expertise for the design of multiple Product deployments and facility related engineering drawings. This team of engineering and systems installation professionals has been tasked with deploying systems around the world. The design team is comprised of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical licensed professional engineers specializing in facility design within a radar, air traffic control, and military defense systems environments. This group is tasked with site layout and design, facility design, systems transition, integration planning, construction management, systems installation, integration, system optimization, testing, system maintenance, and logistics support. The customer sites for these projects are typically government sites with agencies such as DoD, FAA, TSA or Homeland Security. This role is initially targeted to support designs of TSA related checkpoint screening products deployed in Airports across the country. Floor Plans, layouts, equipment details as well as topology diagrams are likely product outputs.

What You Will Do
- As a Lead Drafter, collaborate with engineers to produce facility design and as-built drawings, focusing primarily on civil design, with additional knowledge of electrical and mechanical facilities drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, including Land Development Desktop, Architectural Desktop, Civil 3D, and Building Systems, as well as MS Office Suite.
- Responsible for technical coordination with engineers and ensuring adherence to established Drawing standards.
- Work effectively in a team environment, providing drafting solutions under the technical direction of existing team members.
- Support project engineers by deriving drafting solutions.
- This is primarily a remote position, with occasional travel to Massachusetts offices (Tewksbury, Woburn, or Marlborough) for face-to-face meetings (up to 2 times per month).
Qualifications You Must Have
- Experience in CAD Technology and drafting.
- Experience in developing construction drawing packages for the detailed layout and construction of complex designs.
- Understanding of drafting standards, including the development and maintenance of standards across various programs.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior radar site design experience and/or federal government contract experience is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD Land Development, GIS, SolidWorks, Frameworks 3D, MicroStation, and ArcView is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.
- Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Additional Information:
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
