What You Will Do:

• Develop structurally-sound designs for new and existing engine programs, review repaired and manufactured hardware for structural capability, implement improvements to structures methods and engineering standard work, present results to customers, and support field investigations.
• Perform structural analysis on turbine hardware using a combination of classical engineering calculations, PW tools, and finite element analysis.
• Evaluate turbine hardware for strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
• Document analysis results and present to management and customers

What You Will Learn:

• Apply finite element analysis software and fundamental stress/strain equations to the design of gas turbine engine components.
• Turbine components interaction and behavior during engine operation.
• Process of components being manufactured and refurbished.
• Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business.
• Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering or in a related field
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Siemens NX
• Experience using ANSYS mechanical APDL and/or Workbench.
• Experience in Siemens NX Advanced Simulation.
• Experience with programming languages such as VBA and Python.

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
