What You Will Do
- Identify & implement shop floor process improvements that increase output and reduce overall costs
- Assist in creating and maintaining shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, process control, and tooling definition/requirements)
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement
- Participate in special projects that could involve cost reduction, special processes, machining processes and supplier support activities. The intern will be given a specific process improvement task to take ownership of, and progress to completion throughout their internship.
Qualifications You Must Have
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program studying Engineering, typically Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
Qualifications We Prefer
- Applicable manufacturing engineering experience and processing knowledge
- Understanding of machining and NC programming
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The Product Delivery Center (PDC) is one of Pratt & Whitney's Engine Centers, located in Middletown, CT. At the PDC, parts from our internal and external suppliers are assembled into various engine products, tested, packed, and shipped to a wide array of commercial and military customers who expect affordable, high-quality products. Products at the PDC include those that will enter production, as well as some in development, both of which require an endless focus on robust shop floor processes. The PDC team fosters an internal environment that thrives on utilization of the RTX CORE operating system, while coaching and supporting the workforce to ensure they meet our quality standards and achieve success.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
