Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Inspection Technician II to join the quality inspection team. The Quality Inspector ensures that the quality of Collins Aerospace suppliers, products and process are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving. Performs all assigned tasks based on demonstrated, certified skills and abilities necessary to inspect Landing Gear components. Quality Inspectors will use predetermined methods, operation, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in process and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements. This position works under supervision.

This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.

2nd Shift: Mon. - Fri. 2:45 PM-11:15 PM

What You Will Do:

  • Must obtain a Repairman Certification within 6 months of hire. For the requirements to obtain this certification, please refer to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 145 here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-14/chapter-I/subchapter-D/part-65/subpart-E."
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of major and minor components.
  • Perform final acceptance of overhaul documentation to ensure compliance with approved technical data.
  • Perform various visual and dimensional inspections of incoming manufactured or vendor provided materials and products for conformance to drawings and specification
  • Files documents and maintain quality assurance record systems as required
  • Reviews inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
  • Raises notifications of non-conformance and quarantines non-conforming product.
  • Interpret and work from customer specification, purchase orders, certification, written and verbal instructions
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS diploma with and at least a minimum of 24 months experience in Aerospace experience
  • Must have hands-on knowledge of FAA Part 145 & AS9110 regulatory requirements
  • Must be able to use measuring tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, and height gage
  • Current or previous experience in reading and interpretation of technical data and quality procedures
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Current or previous experience working on aircraft landing gears.
  • FAA A&P Certificate desired but not required.
  • Prior experience utilizing Six Sigma and or CQE
  • Familiarity with common MRO practices
  • Ability to utilize computer systems SAP, to input & retrieve information
  • Proficient in comprehension and interpretation of technical data and quality procedures.
  • Effective communication with various internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to Customer Account Managers, VSMs, engineering, and customers.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in risk-based decision making to address moderately complex problems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot & be able to use measuring gauges & test equipment
