We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Manufacturing Support team at the Collins Aerospace Decorah facility. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Industrial Engineering to enhance manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. From tactical problem-solving to strategic planning, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production operations. You will support various manual or automated build and test operations within the Decorah Operations Team. This role will work with multiple product lines but have a focus on the sensors and fire protection production activities.

What You Will Do:

  • Define and implement technical solutions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to integrate changes that enhance manufacturability.
  • Develop tools to facilitate manufacturing, support process enhancements, and address safety considerations.
  • Contribute to the advancement of new methodologies, techniques, and standards.
  • Lead cross-functional studies focused on cost control, reduction, and inventory management using Lean principles.
  • Determine optimal sequencing of operations, maximizing utilization of facilities and personnel.
  • Prepare project cost estimates and evaluate cost factors to support decision-making.
  • Design manufacturing layouts and facilities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Solve complex problems through data analysis and innovative approaches.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability, offering technical insights to refine designs.
  • Innovate new assembly processes and enhance existing methodologies.
  • Conduct research on emerging processes, methods, and equipment, recommending acquisitions as needed.
  • Manage medium-complexity cross-functional projects from initiation to completion.
  • Validate cost requirements against business plans and program expectations.
  • Estimate project timelines and costs and assist in proposal and presentation preparations.
  • Implement novel approaches to achieve continuous improvement across engineering disciplines.
  • Adapt job duties as necessary to meet evolving organizational needs.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
