The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

What You Will Do

  • Design and oversee the development of facility layouts and plans to meet organizational needs, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, including space utilization, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead design team on projects that are assigned
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed projects.
  • Prepare design and construction documents, including technical specifications and cost estimate
  • Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for facility projects.
  • Manage the implementation of design plans, coordinating with construction teams, engineers, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with building officials and obtain building permits
  • Review Bid Documents, respond to RFI's, and issue addendums
  • Maintain Facilities CAD Standards, Design Standards and Technical Specifications
  • Review and approve construction progress, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into facility designs.
  • Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications and organization or government restrictions to ensure consistency in the documentation of the relevant records.
  • Inspects and reviews projects to evaluate compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations.
  • Reviews building security and safety and recommends improvements to security procedures and protocols to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Participates in prebuilding assessments, feasibility, or energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability assessments.
  • Participates in planning to ensure proper functioning of facilities.
  • Plans, designs, and reconfigures equipment, machinery, buildings, and structures to ensure the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities.
  • Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs.
  • Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
  • Works within parameters of facilities contractor management process.
  • Presents and coordinates design drawings and plans at different design stages with cross functional partners and customer(s) to ensure compliance with customer request(s) and requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • This role typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering, STEM related field, or other related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities design and management.
  • At least 5 years experience creating architectural plans and overseeing construction projects.
  • At least 5 years working with and understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
  • At least 5 years experience using architectural design software sch as AutoCAD, Revit
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • A registered Architect in the State of Arizona, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months after acceptance of employment.
  • Experience with large-scale facility projects, such as corporate campuses or industrial complexes.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
  • Advanced certifications or credentials in facilities management or related areas.
  • Knowledge of advanced building technologies and sustainable design principles.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
