What You Will Do:

F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) is leading the implementation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Multi-disciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO), Model Based Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection (MB-DMI), Simulation Life Management (SLM) into design phase of the program. SLM is the backbone of digital thread focusing on traceability of analysis inputs, analysis models and analysis results across engine development phases. The Engine Design & Systems Engineering (EDSI) organization is seeking an engineer to own the Simulation Lifecycle Management (SLM) capability development to facilitate the digital thread for the F135 ECU program. In this role, you will be working closely with the Engineering Tools & Methods (ET&M) PLM team to deliver capabilities meeting ECU development cycle.

  • Own and execute the strategy and scope for SLM
  • Own implementation of ECU digital thread requirements into ET&M teams multi-year feature development plan and assigning priorities.
  • Integrate with ET&M to develop and establish infrastructure for digital storage and management of simulation inputs and outputs
  • Partner with CIPT module integrators/leads to ensure feedback from all end users needs are incorporated into SLM solution.
  • Work closely with EDSI design integration and structures to implement all initiatives into ECU program
  • Communicate SLM priorities from Digital to EDSI and SIPT to facilitate decision making for digital thread by presenting progress and next steps at regular agile reviews, CDR and other major milestone reviews.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Aerospace, Science, or Math and minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design, development, and/or test, preferably of defense-related components or systems. Or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • 3+ years experience with design methods, tools and processes and Team Center
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • 10% travel

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 3+ years experience with propulsion system product life cycle management activities.
  • 3+ years experience with DOORS, SAP, MS Project, Jira, Github, ZenHub.
  • 3+ years experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Model Based Design.
  • 3+ years Agile certification or proven agile product ownership experience.
  • Active DoD security clearance.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
