Pratt & Whitney Military Engines is seeking a Weapons System Integrator for the F135 Base engine. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the overall integration efforts of the F135 Propulsion System into the three variants of the F-35 "Lightning II" Air System for the USAF, USN, and USMC. As the primary interface for Base F135 engine integration efforts, this individual will also be responsible for maintaining alignment with Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Integration efforts, building and maintaining a strong, positive, and resilient relationship with the air system contractor; ensuring their needs are met in a timely manner while maintaining and executing a strategy to strengthen and build upon the reputation of the F135 engine on the platform - both with the air system contractor and the Joint Program Office and other key stakeholders.

This position requires significant interaction with the US Government's Joint Program Office for the F135 Propulsion System and F-35 Air System, and the Lockheed Martin F-35 Program. Close coordination with numerous P&W groups including EDSI, the F135 Chief Engineer's Office, F135 CIPTs, F135 Customer Support and Logistics Program Management will be critical to achieve required results in the air system. Some domestic travel will be required.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as Focal for Propulsion Integration Executive Review (PIER) - responsible for coordination and execution of the review
  • Function as PMO stakeholder for integration requirements, e.g. ICD - responsible for PMO inputs with respect to establishing requirements and making updates
  • Work with the PW F135 development teams, supporting efforts across CIP, Flight Test, Company Funded Efforts, and LO tasks
  • Lead Propulsion Leadership Team meetings with LM and JPO
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for integration efforts across development activities in coordination with project/program needs with adequate flexibility to deal with shifting demands and priorities
  • Direct development and support services Projects specifically related to LO Integration (Radar Cross Section and Infrared) into the overall air system signature performance
  • Support broader F135 Base Engine Development tasks and programs including CIP and Flight Test
  • Leverage strong critical/strategic thinking and public speaking skills to achieve the broader goals of the F135 enterprise
  • Develop robust working relationships both internally and externally and gain consensus among a diverse group of individuals

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering or another Technical Field or 6+ years of work experience in technical capacity
  • A minimum of 6 years of gas turbine engine experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
