The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for an Engineering Technician Designer for 1st shift.
Pratt & Whitney PSD is a FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.
What You Will Do:
- The candidate will perform a wide variety of design and machining tasks in support of the engineering and manufacturing organizations.
- The candidate will be responsible for collecting design criterion, concepting, and completing functional designs of many types of tooling. Some examples include machining fixtures and jigs, holding fixtures, assembly jigs, inspection gauges, and special cutting tools. All designs must take into consideration the part tolerances, product life, product volume, manufacturing capabilities, manufacturing costs, ergonomics, and user safety.
- The candidate will use AutoCAD to complete technical drawings that effectively communicate design intent to adequately tolerance tooling and meet all drawing standards.
- The candidate will communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel to gather design requirements for assigned tasks.
- The candidate will maintain accurate documentation of tooling databases while maintaining configuration control and other required recordkeeping.
- The candidate will work with Engineering and Manufacturing for the implementation of tooling and fixturing.
- The candidate will troubleshoot problems with existing tooling and provide potential solutions and improvements.
- The candidate will set-up and operate conventional, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- 2+ years of AutoCAD experience/training.
- 2+ years of machining experience/training to include set-up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
- Previous experience/training reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Working knowledge in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
- Experience in 3D modeling using UG NX.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a professional, positive, proactive attitude, strong customer focus, and a desire to help others.
Pratt & Whitney Springdale, AR is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
