The Electric Systems Power Generation Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work with a multi-disciplined technical team in the design, development, production, and field support of commercial aircraft engine mounted primary and auxiliary generators. The preferred candidate must be a superb communicator with strong analytical problem-solving skills, product support experience, and an understanding of project management.
What You Will Do
- Confidently provide clear and concise communication with peers and Collins leadership.
- Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and develop mitigation plans for issues affecting generator program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide customer support for field failure investigations.
- Pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize product profitability.
- Liaise between project management, planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output.
- Interface with internal stakeholders such as the program office and executives, as well as external stakeholders such as industry customers, government agencies, and suppliers.
- Support quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.
- Understand, optimize, improve, and execute test procedures.
- Analyze, interpret, and report test results.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, provide markups, and coordinate drawing releases.
- Proactively identify project risks, develop robust mitigation plans, and lead the timely execution of those plans.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer
- A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or an MBA combined with an undergraduate engineering degree.
- Experience in project engineering for complex mechanical or electrical products.
- Design and testing experience with electric power products, such as electrical generators, motors, or hybrid drivetrain systems, in aerospace or a closely related industry.
- Experience with various electrical machine topologies.
- Design and testing experience with mechanical products in aerospace or a closely related industry.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external customers on the integration of mechanical and electrical systems with aircraft engines and/or airframes.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
