Our Employee & Labor Relations (ELR) Team has an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Director. This role is responsible for enhancing employee relations strategies, programs, practices and procedures. The Employee Relations Director serves as a trusted advisor and key resource to Human Resources (HR) Business Partners and contributes to the overall organizational culture through the consistent application of company practices and policies. The Employee Relations Director is responsible for leading and developing a team of Employee Relations Partners. This role is ideal for an experienced senior level professional who has demonstrated successful leadership in the area of employee relations, ethics, human resources, legal or other related disciplines, with experience working for defense contractors or the U.S. Government. The successful candidate will support the HR function and report to the Vice President, Employee & Labor Relations.

Job location is onsite in: Tucson, AZ, McKinney, TX, Andover, MA, or Arlington, VA.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive employee relations strategies that align with the company's policies and objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Employee Relations Partners.
  • Oversee the completion of internal investigations related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace concerns.
  • Provide expert consultation and advice to HR Partners on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies and legal compliance.
  • Lead and manage various employee relations projects such as reductions in force and business restructure activity.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for HR Partners on employee relations best practices and processes.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with other investigative functions such as Global Ethics & Compliance and Security on complex matters and investigation processes.
  • Analyze trends in employee relations issues and provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support enterprise-wide HR initiatives and process improvements to ensure alignment across various stakeholders.
  • Occasional domestic travel as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a university degree with 14 years of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources experience or an advanced degree with 12 years of related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Experience managing employee relations issues including conducting investigations and resolving conflicts.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience leading a team of Employee Relations or Human Resources professionals.
  • Experience in a union represented environment, labor relations experience.
  • Experience prioritizing multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using Compliance 360 or similar case management platform.
  • Experience collaborating effectively and independently with individuals at all levels in the organization including executives.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
