The Naval Power (NP) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Contracts team has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Contracts leadership role. We are looking for an experienced candidate to be the Contracts lead for the Naval Air Missiles (NAM) Sub Strategic Business Unit (SSBU). This position will provide the necessary Contracts leadership of a portfolio of over $1.4B - $2B in annual revenue over the next 5 years and consisting of a team of nineteen (19) Contracts professionals.

The portfolio is comprised of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts for various missile products across the production, development, integration, technical assistance, and sustainment of the NAM programs.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing strong customer relationships, building customer trust, and the ability to influence customer decisions as appropriate.
In this role, you will have direct supervisory responsibilities in a leader of leaders capacity, while also actively participating in SSBU strategy development, long range business planning, and front-end assessment of business pursuits. You will need to regularly apply a strong business acumen and subject matter expertise to understand program performance requirements, assist team members in the develop contractual and negotiation strategies, provide strategic guidance, and influence results in support of program execution and financial objectives, while ensuing compliance with internal policies/procedures and USG regulations.
The Director, Contracts is required to be a key member of and work collaboratively the NAM Leadership Team and Functional Peers in support of NAM SSBU program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, risk management activities, and all other contractual related matters affecting the portfolio.
The candidate will have a successful track record in Contracts leadership position(s), including the ability to attract, grow and retain contract professionals.
This role is onsite in Tucson, AZ, El Segundo, CA, McKinney, TX or Tewksbury, MA.
What You Will Do
- Effectively communicate with internal and external senior level customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships, resolve complex and multi-faceted problems, and influence business decisions
- Lead a team of contract professionals across varying levels of experience, as well as attract, grow and retain team members
- Implement strategies to improve acquisition timelines and customer pace of contractual actions
- Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with and influencing relevant stakeholders
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
- Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards
- Ability to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while developing and maintaining trusting relationships with senior customer counterparts
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with U.S. Government Acquisition/Contracting, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Experience in the development and leadership of Contracts professionals, which may include coaching, mentoring, and teaching

- Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of strategy and objectives and influence senior internal and customer leadership.
- Cross-functional experience in Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, Business Development, or Program Management
- MBA or Juris Doctor

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
