As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll become a technical authority in the electrical design of diverse maritime programs, contributing to critical mission needs such as environmental control, power generation, and reactant generation.

We seek a candidate with strong electrical engineering expertise and experience in developing complex electrical/electronic systems. You will collaborate with seasoned professionals from various disciplines, ensuring effective communication, precise execution, and adherence to program milestones. Your knowledge of industry and military standards, coupled with your ability to implement best practices, will be essential. Your role will involve designing, testing, and supporting programs throughout their lifecycle, providing occasional field support, and representing Collins Aerospace in customer reviews and meetings. What YOU Will Do:

  • Develop, design, test, and support various programs throughout the product lifecycle. This involves system level PID control design and architecture, and component level circuit design for both analog and digital circuits.
  • Assess fielded designs and address part obsolescence issues as needed.
  • Provide the customer with occasional field support, which may include short-duration assists on deployed nuclear submarines.
  • Represent Electrical Engineering and/or Collins Aerospace at Customer reviews and meetings.
  • Review and interpret Customers' requirements, then translate via design into realized product, and perform verification through analysis or test.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to the Program and Customer as required.
  • Develop and implement technologies that continue to advance Collins' product offering.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience


  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required


  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


  • Open to travel to customer locations and/or platforms to support installed base, sometimes with very short notice. Willing and able to go to sea on board nuclear submarines for short durations
  • Open to working paid overtime, especially when detailed to field service assignments
  • Travel up to 30%, both domestic and international, may periodically be required to support program needs

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Preferred educational background/focus in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with the design of test/production rigs with PID and PLC controllers (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Curtiss Wright) and Panel PC interface
  • Experience with 440 VAC, 3-phase power systems and fuel cell/stack technology desired
  • US Navy experience preferred and former submarine experience highly desired

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
