The Business Analytics team in Raytheon Operations and Supply Chain Excellence is looking for a data engineer focused on the development and deployment of data-driven systems solutions designed to improve performance in the planning and execution of our business. Primary areas of focus will include analyzing source enterprise resource planning (ERP) system information, curating and developing complex datasets that achieves business objectives while meeting data engineering best-practices.

Our team collaborates closely with stakeholders and analysts within operations, supply chain, quality, and other core execution functions to identify supply and demand risks and provide recommendations through performant and trusted data products and complex data models. The role offers opportunity to participate in building various business critical solutions as well as the opportunity to solve unique business problems that arise on ad-hoc basis.
The ideal candidate needs to be passionate about proper data engineering standards with analytical mindset to drive action through facts and data, possess the ability to effectively organize and distill data, proactively ask appropriate questions to understand hypotheses and requests, and analyze and communicate complex data in a compelling manner to a variety of audiences. The candidate will have the opportunity to build strong partnerships and networks across the organization to learn the Raytheon business and grow as in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Develop and optimize complex batch and near-real-time SQL queries to meet product requirements and business needs.
- Design and implement core foundational datasets that is reusable, scalable, and performant.
- Architect, implement, deploy, and maintain data-driven solutions in Snowflake and Databricks.
- Develop and manage data pipeline supporting multiple reports, tools, and applications.
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis to yield actionable insights, identify correlations/trends, measure performance, and visualize disparate sources of data.
- Engagement in data governance council to define, classify, and review standards/guidelines to promote data quality and best practices.
- Collaborate with Raytheon's business processes stakeholders to solve complex problems with innovative solutions
- Lead, plan, and collaborate in an agile scrum team
- Lead and engage in requirement planning, trainings, and presentations with technical and non-technical teams
What You Will Learn
- SAP ERP/MES data sets, transactions, and backend databases
- Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes
- Foundational data sources and key performance metrics depended by Raytheon Operations and Supply Chain to build quality data products
- Designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining tasks, procedures, views, and ETL pipelines
Qualifications You Must Have
- Experience in design, implementations, architecture, and optimization in Snowflake or other relational SQL databases
- Experience with data cleansing, curation, mining, manipulation, and analysis from disparate systems
- Experience with configuration control (GitHub preferred) and DataDevOps practices using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or other deployment pipelines that provide Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- 8 years of experience in operations, supply chain, data engineering, data analytics, and/or database administration.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, economics, or related technical field
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Python and related libraries such as Pandas for advanced data analytics
- Experience with schema deployment solutions such as SchemaChange or Liquibase
- Strong background with Data Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes using SQL as the foundation
- Knowledge of database structures, modeling implementation such as third normal form
- Working knowledge of Agile Software development methodologies
- Ability to filter, extract, and analyze information from large, complex datasets
- Great verbal and written communication skills to collaborate cross functionally
- Experience with data deployment solutions such as Snowflake Tasks, Matillion, SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Alteryx
- Experience with Snowflake Streams, Stages and Snowpipes for data ingestion
- Experience with VS Code and GitHub Desktop for integrated development
- Experience with web application relational database models and APIs
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning methods
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Knowledge of advanced Excel, pivot tables, Power Query
- Experience with Manufacturing, Operations, and/or Supply Chain process and systems
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems (SAP and/or Kinaxis preferred)
- Good organizational and time-management skills

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
