We have an exciting remote opportunity for a Counsel, Data Privacy and Cybersecurity to join our team!
What You Will Do:
As Associate Director and Counsel for Data Privacy and Cybersecurity, you will serve as a subject matter expert on Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Law within the Pratt & Whitney Legal, Contracts and Compliance (LCC) organization and advise and counsel Pratt & Whitney and its businesses on all aspects of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Law. While this role covers both Data Privacy and Cybersecurity, a large majority of the time and work will focus on Data Privacy, roughly a 75%/25% split.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Advise and counsel Pratt & Whitney and its businesses on all aspects of data privacy and cybersecurity law, focusing on incident response, compliance, and transactions and contracts
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of data privacy and cybersecurity policies, standard work, playbooks, guidance, templates, and other documentation
- Develop and deliver training on data privacy and cybersecurity law including assisting with the development and delivery of general awareness training for employees, contractors, and third parties
- Provide legal advice and counsel on all aspects of data privacy and cybersecurity incident response, and be responsible for ensuring timely satisfaction of legal reporting obligations
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and regular compliance-related risk assessments and develop and implement action plans
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) and 10+ years of legal experience, including 5+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, USG and/or in-house - including experience advising and counseling clients on data privacy, cybersecurity and/or data protection matters
- Good standing with a state bar association and in-house counsel registration in a timely manner following hire
- U.S Person (U.S Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), Refugee or Asylee) required, due to government contracts, programs and projects
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience working in both corporate and business legal functions
- Experience advising and counseling clients on data privacy and/or cybersecurity incident response, compliance, and aspects of transactions and contracts
- Strong investigative, analytical, written and oral communication skills
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability and ability to make decisions efficiently and quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while organizing and managing multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines
- Effective team builder and team player that fosters collaborative relationships

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
