What You Will Do

  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering to plan sequences of operations, to estimate time required and learn how to write process sheets and bill of materials.
  • Works with Engineering to understand part drawings and other engineering data necessary to define the fabrication and manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Consults with design or projects engineering to determine the suitability or producibility of molds, fixtures, or parts.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Pratt & Whitney's Production Chief organization is seeking highly motivated students to join our team in this exciting and challenging role. The team actively supports Pratt & Whitney's manufacturing and assembly operations to meet and exceed our customers' expectations. In this role the successful candidates will be in a manufacturing rotational program. This program will require the employees to be enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's, associate degree or certification while employed with Pratt and Whitney. The rotation will consist of assignments in our various module centers and assembly operations across CT with a specific focus on the type of degree or certification being pursued.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Enrolled in a degree program (bachelor's, associate's degree or certification) in engineering, computer science, metallurgy, material science, or manufacturing
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Experience in Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

What is my role type?

In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We've introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
