A Cooling Systems Technician assembles, tests, troubleshoots, modifies and repairs shippable and non-shippable complex specialized electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic and hydro-mechanical refrigeration, cooling and dielectric oil processing systems. Interconnects or integrates completed system into radar, missile or other electronic, hydraulic, or mechanical system or system may be utilized independently for test purposes.

Shift- 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Andover, MA. This position is an onsite role.

What you will do:
- Works from flow diagrams, incomplete sketches, schematics, drawings, manufacturer and customer specifications, verbal and written instructions from supervisor and engineer while utilizing own knowledge of refrigeration and cooling principles and techniques.
- Utilizing the below tools and equipment, performs a wide variety of operations including but not limited to: parts joining by brazing and soldering, machine tool operation, assembling units, preparing and installing electrical and electronic systems.
- Works with precision tolerances to ensure integrity of high-vacuum and high-pressure refrigeration, cooling and oil processing systems.
- Determines proper test equipment, techniques and sequence of operations.
- Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, adjusts and modifies system and components as necessary to meet customer's specifications.
- As necessary, works in assigned laboratory and assembly and test areas in plant, outdoors and on rooftops.
- Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools and equipment.
- Maintains records, moves materials and follows safety rules in performance of duties.
- Performs other similar duties as required or directed.
- Travels to Massachusetts mission centers to support program needs
- Machines, Tools, and Equipment used, includes but not limited to: Hydraulic test benches, fittings, pressure gauges, gauge blocks, common electrical meters, flow meters, environmental test equipment, lathes, millers, soldering irons, butane, and oxyacetylene torches, precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, calipers, dial indicators, precision levels and depth gauges. Common hand tools, bench grinders, drill presses, metal punching equipment, sheet metal shears and brakes, joint rolling equipment, liquid nitrogen systems, prony brakes, saws, strobes, slop watches, torque wrenches, microscope, optical comparator, hydraulic and manual tube benders, degreaser, ultrasonic cleaning equipment, cranes and hoists, oil, water and FC75 processing equipment, hydraulic equipment, and solvents for plastic welding techniques.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with 4-year apprenticeship in metals trades including applications of refrigeration and cooling systems or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to obtain a 608 certification in accordance with EPA 40 CFR Part 82 within 90 days of entering the classification and maintain the certification.
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1 of employment.
