What You Will Do:
- You will be involved in new product testing and new production deployment.
- You will liaise with other operators and departments where appropriate to ensure the machining section meets the required demands and reports directly to the Machining Manager.
- You will set-up and operate multiple CNC Machine Centers, machining of complex composite products.
- You will be responsible for tooling setup and machining new parts by executing and operating a variety of computer numerical control (CNC) or manual machines (5 axis CNC).
- You will maintain a safety first and teamwork mindset.
- You will aid the setting up and proving out of programs with CNC Programmer.
- You will meet and sustain Certified Operator requirements.
- You will support and manage the machine tooling to best achieve drawing tolerances, including offset adjustments and tool wear identification.
- You will communicate with co-workers and supervisor to coordinate activities.
- You will create shop aids and standard work instruction for process improvements.
- You will participate in EHS risk reduction activities.
- You will provide continuous improvement ideas to support lean and CORE initiatives.
- You will use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
- This position will require some travel between our 2 Jacksonville locations, Busch Drive location and Blount Island on an as needed basis.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract, the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant CNC machining experience.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
- Must have minimum of 3 years' experience with 3 axis and/or 5 axis machine center experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- A current transferrable US government DoD security clearance is highly desirable.
- Prior experience utilizing various measuring/ inspection techniques.
- Shift flexibility is highly desired.
Working Environment:
- Work assignments require moderate to strenuous effort.
- Workers must climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces.
- Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh up to 16 kilograms (35 pounds) and use mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, where required.
- The ability to work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day.
