The Raytheon Connected Factory Intelligence & Automation (CFI&A) team is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated team member to take on the role of Automation Systems Technician in support of production at the Raytheon Redstone Missile Integration Facility (RRMIF) in Huntsville, AL.

This position will be responsible for supporting existing automation systems in Huntsville, as well as deploying new Smart Factory technologies and process improvements. The Automation Systems Technician will collaborate with digital technology, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, Automation Systems Engineers, and the Automation Section Manager to execute automation development, deployment, and sustainment.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with factory stakeholders to identify, develop, and deploy manufacturing automation systems and digital solutions.
  • Continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed automation systems (ex. automation mechanisms, controls, robotics, autonomous vehicles)

What You Will Learn

  • Implementing common automation and I4.0 solutions in a high paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • How to leverage product data to identify trends, measure performance, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Skills in developing justifications for new manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • 6+ years professional experience as it relates to engineering, manufacturing, facilities, operations and/or automation.
  • Experience with automation programming environments (ex. ladder logic, function block, and/or python)
  • Experience with automation mechanism/components, controls, and troubleshooting of mechanical & electrical systems.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering terms and principals.
  • Verifiable technical background with an understanding or hands-on experience in automation systems design, development, deployment, validation and/or sustainment.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
