The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
Brief Description of Department
The RTX Corporate Tax Department is seeking an Associate Tax Director to be responsible for all business unit accounting for income taxes relating to ASC740 for certain business units. The role will assist in the development of and alignment with strategic business and tax objectives to ensure the effects of income taxes on financial statements reconciliation process is conducted as applicable. The successful candidate will communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with other members of the tax department, as well as other headquarters and business unit functions as appropriate and necessary.
What You Will do:
- Primary Responsibility: Business Unit Accounting for Income Taxes, ASC740
Responsibilities Core Day to Day
- Review and assist preparing quarterly and year-end income tax expense and balance sheet accounts for business unit US and non-US businesses, including forecasts and actuals
- Collaborate with business unit FP&A & Controllers for financial statement forecasts and actuals
- Review US tax calculations & supporting analytics for quarterly forecasts and year end actuals
- Lead special projects related to certain business units including the preparation of management presentations, historical tax rate analyses and review of tax rate / law changes
- Lead Tax Reporting for certain business unit mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, integration, purchase accounting matters, and carve-out financial statements
- Collaborate with the tax planning function at certain business units as needed to ensure accurate tax reporting of planning related initiatives
- Lead tax accounting method changes for certain business units
- Act as a business unit subject matter expert on Tax Provision Software (Longview)
- Liaise with the Corporate Tax Reporting function
- Review certain business unit annual US Corporate income tax filings, including book/tax adjustments and support for foreign tax credit / foreign source income calculations
- Lead continuous process improvement at certain business units including tax provision software, Longview
Qualifications You Must Have:
- At least 10 years' relevant experience gained in a large multi-national corporate tax or public accounting firm environment
- At least 10years experience and knowledge of tax accounting theory, including ASC740, ASC450, financial statement presentation, etc.
- At least 10 years experience and knowledge of US Corporate income tax concepts, including international tax concepts such as subpart F, GILTI, and foreign tax credits.
- This role requires an Bachelors degree in Finance, accounting, business or related field and 12 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 10 years' experience gained in a large multi-national corporate tax or public accounting firm environment
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Qualifications We Prefer:
- General knowledge of tax planning & reporting functions
- Ability to identify opportunities to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results
- Certified Public Accountant
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and coordinate effectively with others throughout the tax and finance organizations at HQ and the business units
- Self-motived, able to work independently and under pressure in a fast paced performance environment
Location/Type: On site/Hybrid/Remote
- This is a hybrid role, eligible candidates must reside near an RTX hub (Cedar Rapids IA, Dallas TX, Tucson, AZ, Hartford CT). or remote based in the Continental USA
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
