The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Global Communications Team:

As the Associate Director, RTX Executive Communications within the Employee Engagement team, you will be instrumental in defining and implementing communication strategies that engage and align our workforce with the company's mission and strategic objectives. Your role will be pivotal in driving the success of two major employee engagement campaigns, requiring a blend of strategic insight, operational excellence, and the ability to influence at the highest levels of the organization.

In addition to developing and executing initiatives, you will also lead and mentor a team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Your exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with a strong executive presence and operational skills, will be crucial in effectively engaging with senior leaders and employees across RTX.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development and execution of sophisticated executive communication strategies that bolster employee engagement, reinforce company values, and support RTX's strategic goals and key initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop meaningful messages, speeches, presentations, articles, and other communication materials that resonate with key stakeholders and reinforce the company's narrative.
  • Write remarks, talking points, thought leadership positioning, opinion editorials, etc.
  • Ensure consistent messaging pull through of business priorities, aligned to goals, in all executive communications, maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on communication best practices, providing guidance on effective communication techniques and strategies.
  • Direct and inspire cross-functional teams to launch communication campaigns that foster a vibrant employee engagement culture and reflect RTX's commitment to its workforce.
  • Engage with stakeholders throughout RTX to maintain a deep understanding of strategic priorities, business performance, and market dynamics, ensuring that communications are timely, relevant, and sensitive to external factors.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging metrics, soliciting feedback, and applying advanced evaluation and analytics methodologies.
  • Remain at the forefront of executive communication trends, bringing fresh, forward-thinking ideas to the Employee Engagement Team and RTX Communications Centers of Excellence (COEs).
  • Travel up to 25%, or as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
  • Experience in the development and execution of key strategic priority initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in executive communications, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Operational skills with the ability to work effectively within the CORE operating system framework.
  • Previous experience with continuous improvement through metrics, feedback collection and evaluation/analytics.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Poppulo, and other communication tools.

Location

  • Hybrid from Dallas, TX, Arlington, VA, Charlotte, NC, or Farmington, CT; hybrid employees work both offsite and onsite, regularly.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Over the course of the 14-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return-to-work experience. Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.

Minimum Program Qualifications

To qualify for the RTX Re-Empower Program, candidates should:

  • Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
  • Have prior experience in functional area of interest
  • Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time position

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
