What You Will Do:
We have an exciting hybrid opportunity for an Operations Attorney! Reporting to the Director & Senior Counsel, Operations in Pratt & Whitney's legal organization, the person in this role will provide day-to-day general legal counsel to Pratt & Whitney Operations, including those with responsibility for managing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket servicing sites around the globe. The Associate Director and Counsel advises business leaders on a variety of contractual and regulatory issues relevant to their sites of operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address legal risks in business-centric ways
- Coordinate with other subject matter experts and stakeholders
- Support contractual negotiations and dispute resolution efforts
- Understand and advise on compliance with laws, policies, and procedures
- Provide high visibility and strategic value across the Operations organization
- Foster strong partnerships with clients including the effective management of outside counsel
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) and 5+ years of legal experience
- Good standing with a state bar association and, if not registered in Connecticut, then complete in-house counsel registration in a timely manner following hire
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance - this position may also require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Qualifications We Prefer:
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house counsel
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental, health & safety, real estate, construction, and/or mergers & acquisitions
- Substantial experience as a solution and business-oriented attorney
- Demonstrated capacity to actively solve complicated legal and business problems
- Ability to independently counsel business leaders on general legal matters
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Ability to think and work proactively and strategically in identifying and resolving legal issues
- Team player with an ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of the organization and maintain strong relationship with peers, internal clients, and external customers
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written
- Experience mitigating and resolving contract disputes
What is my Role Type?

This role is:
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that some responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in East Hartford, CT on a consistent basis. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
