Join Collins Aerospace as a Technical Writer. We're looking for someone like you, to be responsible for researching, analyzing, and translating technical information into government technical publications, manuals, and other documentation for non-technical and technical users. In this role you will also establish and maintain internal and external company contacts for RTX Collins Aerospace equipment and/or specific platform subject matter experts. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What YOU will do:
- Research, analyze, design, and create technical publications and/or other types of documentation with a moderate complexity using established industry and military documentation standards.
- Analyze and communicate engineering source data so that it is understandable to internal and external Collins Aerospace customers.
- Prepare product estimates to support development and planning cycles for each technical publication or document assigned.
- Be accountable for the cost, quality, and timely delivery of all assignments.
- Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality of production and maintain cost control.

Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires a university degree unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience interpreting and comprehending system operation that is derived from engineering documentation (schematics, mechanical drawings, software specifications, hardware interface specifications, and equipment specifications).
- Experience maintaining, operating, building, or designing aircraft equipment.
- Component level electronics skills and/or recent experience.
- Experience with using and/or producing operator, intermediate, or depot level maintenance documentation.
- Experience using technical writing tools such as: MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, ArborText.
- Experience developing technical publications in accordance with industry standards such as: ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D, and Military specifications.
- Experience developing technical publications utilizing Simplified Technical English (STE) in accordance with ASD-STE100.
- Former military experience preferred.
