What you will do:

The Aerothermal Test Team at RTX Technology Research Center is seeking a candidate join us as a Test & Validation Engineer to support experimental testing and test facility operations. Our team maintains and operates two large test facilities: the Jet Burner Test Stand, and the Compressor Test Facility, both of which are utilized heavily to drive innovation for the RTX business units.

• Analytical engineering skills and hands-on experience in the assembly, instrumentation, installation, testing and troubleshooting of test articles and test facility support systems.
• Experimental test program planning and execution, day-to-day test operations, ensuring the validity and accuracy of experimental data, and effective communication with team members.
• Assist with periodic safety audits, test system maintenance, and the application of Environmental Health and Safety rules.

Qualifications you must have:

• The candidate should have a B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related engineering field. The preferred candidate will have a M.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with a minimum of 2 years of industry or university work experience in experimental test engineering.
• Experience in experimental test planning, execution and test facility operations
• Experience using data acquisition systems (steady state and dynamic), and familiarity with commonly used test instrumentation equipment and devices
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with the design and specification of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Experience with piping systems and familiarity with associated Power Piping Code.
• Experience with Labview programming and MS-Visio for P&ID generation
• Experience creating and editing drawings in CAD/Solidworks.
• Combustion testing experience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all
production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
