Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating the hull design studies (model analyzis, static, dynamic, vdv) and structural design work with yard and selected vendor. Coordinates input to the projects from in-house sources, site offices, architects and other consultants. Performs steel and welding inspection work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows and applies development in technology of above mentioned areas
  • Ensure, that all innovations and lessons learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future NB projects
  • Meets with systems designers & suppliers
  • Applies relevant rules and regulations in the development of cruise ship design and building, including evaluation of new technology
  • Approve drawings and standards for NB projects
  • Participate inspections and surveys at various manufactures, such items include: side shell doors, wt doors, platforms, blocks (external production)
  • Participate approval process for inspection procedures
  • Development of follow up tools for survey reports
  • Correspondence regarding the hull and steel matters
  • Following on comfort related items (Noise & vibrations, approval & follow-up of noise prevention plans)
  • Ensure & being responsible of quality & safety throughout the execution of the project for his job scope

Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 10 years with the cruise ship industry, combined with on site construction, with familiarity of strong shipbuilding processes, site surveys and marine standards.
  2. Proven knowledge of SOLAS and IMO
  3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Technical, Chief Eng. Structural and/or Naval Architecture degree preferred with weight on technical integration.


Key skills & experience required:

Fluency in English.

Computer literate.

Proactive

Self driven

Team player

Good communication

Basic Knowledge of NDT techniques (No certification required, but certification is a merit)

Physical Demands:

Good physical condition, able to endure extensive walking and stairclimbing within a heavy and loud shipbuilding construction environment.
