The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr. Auditor, reporting to the Director of Audit.

This position sits on-site in Miami, FL.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Audit & Advisory Services Senior to be responsible for carrying out the planning, execution of fieldwork, and reporting of conclusions to management on a variety of audit and advisory projects. Audit and advisory projects aim to protect value by identifying and addressing risks and add value by offering the business valuable insights and recommendations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, perform, and document process walkthroughs with management in the form of flowcharts and risk-and-control matrixes.
  • Support the company's assessment and certification of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in accordance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (i.e., SOX compliance) by evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of management's controls.
  • Design, execute, and detail review substantive and control tests, and ensure quality workpapers are documented and can be relied on by external auditors - following prescribed audit methodologies and guidance.
  • Provide supported perspectives, evaluations, and points-of-view as well as administrative and logistical support on various risk assessments including but not limited to: enterprise-wide risk assessments (ERA), shipboard audit risk assessments, SOX compliance risk assessments, fraud risk assessment, and other project/topic-specific risk assessments.
  • Lead the execution and fieldwork of audit and advisory projects, which include being responsible for: determining resource, budget, and scheduling needs; supervising staff and/or consultants and detail reviewing workpapers; coordination and clear communication of audit criteria and observations with management and key stakeholders; addressing exceptions and findings.
  • Lead the reporting and presentation of audit & advisory project conclusions, which include being responsible for consulting management on corrective actions and appropriate recommendations, drawing conclusions from results and preparing articulate reporting deliverables for executive-level communication.
  • Perform shipboard audit procedures onboard cruise ships covering financial, operational, and compliance risk areas and lead closing meetings with shipboard executive committees explaining procedures performed, results obtained, and conclusions reached.
  • Support investigations related to alleged fraud, policy violations, and/or other potential compliance-related issues and work collaboratively with legal and other stakeholders.
  • Support the department's management team with developing the annual Audit & Advisory Services plan and resource schedule.
  • Implement innovations, process improvement opportunities, and data analytic capabilities within the department and across the business to improve audit quality and operational efficiency.
  • Train, develop, and coach staff, as well as directly supervise up to three professionals to ensure work and objectives are carried out in a productive and positive environment, aligned with RCG's policies. This includes completing performance reviews and other associated responsibilities.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited University. Degrees are in areas such as: Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science or Information Systems, Engineering, Marketing, Data Analytics are preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of overall relevant experience, including internal audit, internal controls, financial/operations/enterprise risk management, or public accounting (Big4 preferred).
  • Experience applying knowledge of GRC and audit concepts, frameworks, and/or techniques from COSO's internal control framework, COSO's enterprise risk management framework, ISACA's COBIT IT governance framework, PCAOB's auditing standards, IIA's professional audit standards, and/or AICPA's audit standards; as well as experience applying basic investigation protocols/methodologies and strategies.
  • Relevant professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA preferred).
  • Cruise and/or travel industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interact, communicate, and correspond with various levels of management, peers, external stakeholders, and experience working in diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage priorities, due dates, commitments, expectations, and report progress/status.
  • Ability to zoom in and out from details to big-picture and link individual projects and workstreams to broader departmental and corporate strategy.
  • Experience teaching/training staff and developing staff.
