The Royal Caribbean Group's IT Enterprise Products Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Software Engineer reporting to the Director of Product Engineering.
This position will work on-site in Miramar, Florida.
Position Summary
The Senior Software Engineer reports to an engineering/product manager and possesses a strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices. This role is responsible for implementing solution designs using design patterns and the latest technologies, troubleshooting technical issues, and application testing within a DevOps environment. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions aligned with Royal Caribbean's product portfolios. The position involves documenting solution decisions and driving the delivery of one or more solution components from project inception to delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement solution designs from inception through production delivery.
- Ensure operational excellence, focusing on resiliency, performance, availability, and scalability of applications.
- Collaborate with product teams for accurate estimation activities.
- Coach and mentor other engineers on solution engineering, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Ensure compliance of solution design and implementation with corporate standards and policies.
- Document and communicate implementation decisions for products and applications.
- Stay current with industry trends to advocate effective solution approaches.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Financial Responsibilities
- Understand technical estimation activities and define optimization opportunities to manage costs.
- Track effort hours using a time management tool.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or a related field.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or equivalent.
- Experience with API Management/Gateway solutions (e.g., Apigee).
- Experience in designing and executing application testing strategies to ensure software quality.
- Proficient in delivering software products using appropriate methodologies.
- Familiarity with TIBCO BusinessWorks (v5, v6), EMS, Hawk, Business Events, and BPM.
- Experience with Web Services and SOAP/REST API development.
- Knowledge of RDBMS, SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
- Understanding of software architecture, configurations, and integration options.
- Implemented Enterprise Class middleware architecture using TIBCO.
- Skilled in analyzing code, logs, and current systems to resolve technical issues.
- Understanding of security patterns, B2B protocols, public key infrastructure, SSL/TLS, and key-based authentication.
- Experience with Microsoft .NET (C#) development.
- Experience working in large, cross-functional teams in a globally diverse environment is preferred.
