The Royal Caribbean Group's Shipboard Talent Acquisition team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition Operations reporting to the AVP, Shipboard Talent Acquisition.

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition Operations is responsible for developing and executing operational strategies, ensuring Royal Caribbean Group hires and retains top talent across all regions. This role involves managing a multinational team, optimizing recruitment processes, and aligning talent acquisition policies and procedures with the company's global objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in international talent acquisition, strong leadership skills, and a strategic approach to global recruitment challenges.

The role supports AVP of Talent Acquisition by managing all operational aspects of recruiting to include vendor management and hiring compliance to include identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk; developing and implementing programs addressing compliance and the code of conduct within the hiring process; and collaborating with management to effectively incorporate the ethical hiring practices within system operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess business needs, identify potential vendors, and negotiate contract terms with global recruitment agencies. Partner with legal to ensure contractual relationships are formalized within company guidelines.
  • Lead and manage the global Talent Acquisition team, providing strategic direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Establish and enforce global recruitment goals, objectives, and performance metrics aligned with HR and organizational strategies.
  • Responsible for change management that drive clarity, process efficiency and continuous improvement to meet business hiring goals under involving external business environment.
  • Manage a team that support recruiter and vendor training, performance review and administrative support, in conjunction with IT, legal and finance, remaining consistently aligned with business and industry trends and requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate data & insights are surfaced at the right altitude in a timely manner to enable leadership, hiring managers and stakeholders to take timely action.
  • Continually examine existing opportunities and identifies new opportunities to enhance and enrich not only all aspects of the employee movement lifecycle, but continuously driving for overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the operation.
  • Make certain internal controls are capable of preventing and detecting significant instances or patterns of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct by employees, agents, contractors, or others working with the organization.
  • Promote and establish a positive candidate experience throughout the global recruitment process, from initial contact to onboarding.
  • Communicate effectively with international candidates, providing timely updates and feedback.
  • Ensure that the system has effective mechanisms to reasonably determine that persons either promoted to or hired in management and certain other sensitive and/or responsible positions (to be designated) do not have a propensity to violate laws and regulations or engage in improper or unethical conduct in their designated areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and monitor the day-to-day compliance activities of the organization related to background checks. This includes but is not limited to performing background checks on potential employees or crew members, verifying information provided by candidates, including education, employment history, and criminal records. Processing and analyzing results of background checks.
  • Make sure all global recruitment activities comply with international employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on global industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Communicate findings in a clear, concise, and legally compliant manner to employers or vendors.
  • Ensure all screening processes follow company policies and legal compliance.
  • Provide timely updates and feedback to hiring managers or other relevant parties.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Investigate discrepancies and handling disputes or appeals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all background checks and investigations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and/or oversee internal and external audit procedures in Talent Acquisition for the purpose of monitoring and detecting any misconduct or noncompliance; if any misconduct or noncompliance is detected, recommend a solution and follow up to ensure that the noncompliance is resolved.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain familiarity with laws and regulations regarding background checks and privacy
  • The position is required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management. This position will require travel up to 25 % of the time.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage expenses and budget assigned for travel, audits and training initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human resources or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent.
    • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in human resources and minimum 5 years leadership role, with at least 5 years in a background check or compliance role.
    • Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
    • In-depth knowledge of background check processes, legal requirements, and best practices.
    • Knowledge of general shipboard functions on a cruise ship preferred, along with the general concept of working with the shipboard organizational structures as well as large corporate settings.
    • Proven abilities in employee administration and in genera business management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of HR Compliance.
  • Knowledge of seafarer documentation and onboarding procedure, general shipboard functions on a cruise ship, along with the general concept of working with the shipboard organizational structures as well as large corporate settings.
  • Knowledge of Maritime Laboure Convention and STCW. Familiar with seafarer legislation status in various countries, especially Philippines, India, and Indonesia.
  • Strong data analytic skill. The ability to analyze, model and interpret data to meet business objectives and desired outcome.
  • Knowledge on global recruitment risk control factors including security, medical, immigration, and travel restrictions.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of Microsoft software packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of automated human resources systems preferred including JD Edwards &/OR PeopleSoft.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to execute visions.
  • Highly effective communication skills as a variety of levels, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership presence to influence operational stakeholders, as a subject matter expert (SME) and business leader.
  • Possesses the flexibility to manage, focus, direct and encourage a positive dynamic, diverse GR center operation by navigating through a changing work environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
