Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager of the Fleet Optimization Program Management Office is responsible for the oversight, management, and leadership of the Fleet Optimization Program Management Department of Global Marine Operations (GMO), consisting of the Project Management, Business Analytics & Continuous Improvement and Digitalization teams of the GMO. Responsible for developing and executing the short- and long-term strategy, planning and financial oversight of all operational and capital aspects related to Fleet Optimization Program Management Office (PMO). Is partner to the GMO responsible for ensuring Fleet Optimization PMO Support for all relevant GMO operational areas, dry-docks, in-service projects, and strategic initiatives. The Sr. Manager, Fleet Optimization PMO acts as an advisor to Operations Teams, Newbuild and the GMO on matters related to Fleet Optimization PMO. The Sr. Manager Fleet Optimization Program Management reports directly to Vice President of Celebrity Marine Operations and Fleet Optimization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop Strategy for Fleet Optimization PMO and assist with the development of annual GMO strategy, create and lead GMO's Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Manage and lead Fleet Optimization PMO in the strategic and operational support of the Global Marine Operations and Brand Marine Operations.
  • Develop, implement and manage GMO Marine Digitalization Strategy in order to expand business analysis capabilities of the Marine Operation and drive data driven decision making. Leads, develops and manages the development of GMO Business Intelligence capabilities. Including on-going development of a portfolio of systems and tools consisting of Asset Performance Management, web applications, dashboard, database and project management tools.
  • Develop implement and maintain manages the Global Marine Operations Business Analytics Strategy, including Performance Management, Process Improvement, and special safety and operational efficiency studies, workshops and initiatives to further the GMO vision of safe, effective and efficient operations.
  • Communicate findings and best practices to the Operations and GMO teams.
  • Work closely with Classification Societies on new and innovative solutions to: improving safety, performing condition based and periodic maintenance, becoming digital, increase efficiency.
  • Prioritize projects and day to day operations and utilize department staff in the most efficient way possible. 8. Investigate and asses existing and new technologies to increase safety and create efficiencies across the corporation.
  • Follow-up on incidents as assigned, investigate, evaluate and implement corrective actions, procedures, changes as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategy to bring Marine Operations Project Management practices to PMI standards.
  • Oversee Fleet Optimization Project Management Office responsible for oversight, standardization and reporting of entire portfolio of GMO projects exceeding $100M annually. Standardization and oversight of Dry-dock planning process, execution, and reporting processes for all brands.
  • Manages and participates in the study of operational needs and current operational performance both afloat and ashore to determine optimal working procedures and systems, and to identify areas for improvement and efficiency on assigned projects or of selected resources.
  • Facilitates communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate communication, project execution, performance management and ensure cohesion with international GMO resources in the UK and Asia.
  • The position requires travel to and from ships, shipyards and /or vendor facilities (<= 30%).
  • Remains current with industry trends, especially as related to contemporary management techniques.
  • Performs other duties as required.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the Fleet Optimization SG&A Annual Budget.
  • Strategizes with financial analyst on economic feasibility analysis for project options, alternatives and life cycle costs.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree with a concentration Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering OR in Business, Project Management or related field or related field with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Certifications: PMP preferred
  • Experience: 4-6 years with 2-3 years of experience leading a team.

  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in leading a medium to large size team of professionals.

  • Strong ability to interact with senior management team and build effective relationships within the company as well as with internal and external customers.
  • Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support the overall business needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and listening skills, including the ability to adjust style to successfully implement ideas across the business/ships and effectively interact with external and internal channels.
  • Must be extremely customer-service oriented.
  • Strong decision making skills considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Creativity and strategic thinker.
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, financial and spreadsheet modeling skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of the hospitality industry, current market trends, and economic factors; preferably within an international organization and accustomed to working with a highly diverse and remote work group.
  • Understanding of advanced Engineering concepts, design theories and technical drawings necessary to assist in special project and dry dock planning.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities.
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required.
  • Language requirements: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific, engineering and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present information to top management and public groups.
