Position Summary:
Royal Caribbean is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Sr. Manager of Civil Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience and extensive expertise in infrastructure needs for remote island and coastal developments. This role requires a deep understanding of various civil engineering disciplines and the ability to manage pre-design oversight for our private destinations. The Sr. Manager will work within the Architecture + Design Team but will collaborate with the Construction Management team during pre-construction efforts and manage due diligence consultants contracted under Royal Caribbean.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Design Oversight:
- Lead the pre-design phase for private destination projects, ensuring infrastructure needs are thoroughly assessed and planned.
- Develop comprehensive plans for site drainage, percolation, geo tech analysis, coastal engineering, site reclamation/terra forming, beach creation, reverse osmosis plants, waste water treatment, power generation, solid waste solutions, and sustainable engineering.
- Collaboration with Construction Management:
- Work with the Construction Management team during pre-construction efforts to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to support construction planning and decision-making processes.
- Management of Consultants:
- Oversee the management of due diligence consultants contracted under Royal Caribbean, ensuring all necessary analyses and reports are completed to the highest standards.
- Coordinate with consultants to ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Infrastructure Development:
- Apply extensive knowledge of infrastructure development for remote island and coastal projects to create innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Ensure all infrastructure projects meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Royal Caribbean's quality benchmarks.
- Project Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed project documentation, including reports, plans, and presentations for senior management.
- Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and progress to key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on remote island and coastal developments.
- Extensive expertise in site drainage, percolation, geo tech analysis, coastal engineering, site reclamation/terra forming, beach creation, reverse osmosis plants, wastewater treatment, power generation, and sustainable engineering.
- Proven experience in managing pre-design phases for large-scale projects.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with construction management teams.
- Excellent management skills, with a track record of overseeing consultants and ensuring project compliance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
