The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr Financial Analyst reporting to the Manager, Finance Capital.

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida

The Sr Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial planning, analysis, review of actual expenditures, governance, and reporting of one or more Marine Operations projects. The responsibilities include review of initial and updated budgets, actual expenditures, and projections of future spend. Specifically, budgets include labor hours, rate and mix, as well as goods and services provided by third parties.

The position is expected to display considerable initiative, independent judgment, and leadership skills in performing financial activities such as planning and forecasting, analysis, project assessments, preliminary cost estimates, and governance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and maintain financial plans and forecasts (including spending curves), ensuring all project requirements and objectives are properly documented and budgeted.
  • Prepare financial analysis for each project and report findings in a timely manner, ensuring that risks and issues are reviewed and resolved in collaboration with internal and external constituents.
  • Interact frequently with CAR Managers and Global Marine Operations (GMO) Leadership to ensure timely and accurate project plans and forecasts.
  • Ensure all aspects of a project comply with corporate policies and procedures, including proper Capital Project Approvals for new and amended initiatives as well as proper capitalization of expenses.
  • Provide support, guidance, and training on the financial aspects of a project to the respective project team members.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as required for GMO leadership, Corporate Accounting, and Capital Planning.
  • Assist with the department's G&A budget
  • Ad-hoc analysis of capital projects, expenditures, and project scope, as required.
  • Audit capital projects for compliance. Communicate concerns to Sr. Manager, Finance.
  • Actively participate in the development and update of the Capital plan.
  • Develop and implement GMO financial procedures and standards as needed.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of staff and non-labor resources.
  • Review project scheduling and resource allocation output
  • Review and approve CAR-related journal entries prepared by Financial Analyst
  • Identify expense optimization opportunities.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business-related major, Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities
  • IT Finance or technology-related experience is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Marine related estimation activities preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as good spreadsheet skills.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint. Visio preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing responsibilities as needed.
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience utilizing project plans, issue logs, and risk/mitigation strategies is preferred.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers and management; ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Clear understanding of capital vs non-capital expenditures
  • Accepts accountability and manages execution.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities to meet organizational goals.

The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel.
