Position Summary:
A Sales Training Specialist is responsible for effectively developing and implementing training initiatives to drive productivity, revenue and achieve sales goals. They are responsible for creating memorable engagement and for conducting trainings with North America travel advisors through webcast series, National Account conferences, home-based Travel Advisor events and other industry events. This includes creating, coordinating and conducting travel advisor and sales manager training programs. These programs consist of brand, product, sales automation, technology, and sales skills. Reviews and monitors the success of the programs with an emphasis on results from these trainings. The Trainer may support other Sales Training efforts including developing training material, and/or supporting various Sales events. Maintains relationships with the Trade, Sales team, and other departments to leverage efforts and costs ( i.e. develop relationships with counterparts in Marketing, Hotel Operations, Revenue Management, etc. ) as well as working in conjunction with other Training teams and brands under RCCL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead and facilitate training programs for the Sales Team and travel advisors; included, but not limited to, product training, sales skill assessments, lunch and learns, webinars (internal and external). These training skills will enable participants to better sell and promote the brand appropriately. Strong presentation skills are a must.
- Responsible for creating memorable engagement and for conducting trainings with North America travel advisors at National Account conferences, home-based TA shows and other industry events.
- Supports all the Royal Sales Regions with presentations, development of training resources, software and technology training, webinar assistance and a main resource of questions sales-related activities, policies and procedures.
- Performs skill assessment to determine sales skill needs at the travel advisor or sales manager level and then develops sales training programs or uncovers resources to address these needs.
- Develops a comprehensive training calendar for their territory prioritizing the best opportunities sales training within travel agencies, call centers, onboard, or at designated outside venues that mirror the current Sales strategies and executes all initiatives.
- Customizes approach to audience (front-line advisors, owners, managers) as well as tailors messaging to the channel of distribution (home based, on line, retail or incentive)
- Responsible for maintaining and innovating online travel advisor learning tool ' Royal Caribbean University
- Identifies and recommends new training policies or programs based on knowledge of identified training needs, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.
- Communicates, tracks and reports records of training sessions. Analyze return on training (ROT) metrics to monitor account performance pre/post training.
- Organizes and maintains a reference library or resource for training manuals, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials in both hard and soft copies
- Manages execution of all elements of projects to assure on time, on budget, and delivery within agreed upon quality parameters to achieve desired results.
- Ensures that a feedback and monitoring process is in place for all training, ensuring effectiveness and quality of results.
- Confers with internal departments to determine effective utilization of training, proper scheduling and applications of training and scope of training needs and initiatives relating to company strategies and goals.
- Keeps informed on new developments, methods and techniques in the training fields as well as within the industry.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Concentration in training, organizational development or HR preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sales, Sales Training, a related training field, or training design/delivery.
- Minimum of 2 years curriculum development experience required.
- Experience in travel industry preferred.
- Travel Required: 25% travel - Position is Miami- based. Travel pertains to ship or industry events, seminars at sea, territory assistance with Strategic Account Managers, etc.
- Certification: Professional training certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills in front of small and large audiences
- Creative thinking skills and ability to provide new ideas and opportunities for training initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, with strong skillset in PowerPoint
- Solid organization and project management skills, with the ability to multi-task
- Basic knowledge of adult learning principles
- The ability to work successfully as a team and independently
- Computer knowledge and usage skills, with the aptitude to learn new technology
- Skilled in attention to detail and time management in order to manage several projects at one time
- Ability to prioritize projects based on the needs of the business and requests from leadership
- Ability to work with Senior Leadership with professionalism and proficiency
