This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida

Position Summary:

In this position, you will work on a dynamic team using your over 20 years of experience and a proven track record at the principal level. This position requires extensive expertise in managing multiple design teams, island and coastal development, and projects in hospitality and mixed-use environments. You will need a strong background in landscape/hardscape design and a general understanding of civil and coastal engineering which is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Development:
    • Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of private destination projects, ensuring alignment with Royal Caribbean's vision and standards.
    • Develop innovative concepts and master plans for island and coastal developments, including hospitality and mixed-use projects.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Simultaneously manage multiple design teams, providing clear direction, support, and mentorship.
    • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging the development of innovative solutions and designs.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Oversee all aspects of project planning, design, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Apply extensive knowledge of landscape and hardscape design to create aesthetically pleasing and functional environments.
    • Utilize a general understanding of civil and coastal engineering principles to inform project planning and decision-making.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Royal Caribbean's quality benchmarks.
    • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, providing updates on project status, budget, and timelines.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 20 years of experience in island and coastal development, with a focus on hospitality and mixed-use projects.
  • Principal level experience in current practice, demonstrating leadership and expertise in design and project management.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple design teams and large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Strong background in landscape and hardscape design, with a portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
  • General understanding of civil and coastal engineering principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
