The Royal Caribbean Group's Workforce Planning Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Workforce Planning Manager reporting to the Sr. Manager, Workforce Planning
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the strategic planning of the shipboard workforce for Royal Caribbean Group. This includes strategic leadership in par level management, succession planning and promotion management, demographic and diversity planning and tracking, and new hire forecasting for the brand. This position will work in close partnership on a daily basis with operations leaders, and as a liaison with HR shared services in Talent Acquisition, Scheduling and Travel.

The Manager is focused on forecasting, measurement and agility in order to improve the overall effectiveness of workforce planning making sure par levels are managed properly and the right people are in the right jobs at the right time. Will use a high focus on analytics to measure real time activity and make or recommend adjustments in workforce management. Also, will incorporate contingency planning to create an agile approach to workforce changes and adjustments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic workforce planning based on business needs (Par, demographic, nationalities, skills, etc), recruiting, scheduling and logistics optimization to meet the needs of the fleet
- Ensuring that processes and procedures for scheduling and new hire placements are continuously followed. This will include quality and consistency in the application of standards and service levels being met.
- Manages the effective communication and collaboration between shipboard teams, Hotel and Marine Operations and other areas of HR, i.e., recruitment, compensation and scheduling.
- Works closely with functional areas to clearly understand current and future sourcing needs and plan accordingly. This includes GAP pool and pipeline management.
- Develop and/or influence systems and processes to proactively implement improvements and mitigate risks in workforce planning.
- Maintains excellent relationships with the ship's management teams and shore side counterparts across all fleet operations and looks strategically for best practice opportunities to optimize workforce planning.
- Liaise with other functional departments or groups to proactively plan for heavy travel season, restrictions, limited travel periods, dry docks, new builds and special projects.

Financial Responsibilities
- The Manager has the shared responsibility for CAM management relative to crew movement across the fleet.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or other related discipline or directly related experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of workforce planning or organizational management experience either in the cruise, hospitality industry or supply chain industry.
- Three or more years of leadership experience managing and collaborating with diverse, global teams.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience working with large systems both in diagnosing and then executing fixes/improvements to enhance the logistics of our workforce management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to lead in a complex and shifting environment.
- Superior interpersonal skills to build cross functional relationships both inside the HR dept. and outside with operations leaders.
- Work in a multi-tasking environment that has shifting priorities and able to respond to business emergencies at any time.
Physical Demands:
- While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit and stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen and assess information. The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascent and descent the vessel. This position may regularly travel domestically or internationally. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- The environment includes work inside/outside the office, travel to other offices, possibly travel domestic and international and work within shipboard environment. A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
