The Royal Caribbean Group's Health Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Health Operations reporting to the Director, Health Operations, Strategy & PM.

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Manager, Health Operations will oversee the daily operations of medical facilities across multiple cruise ships, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality healthcare administrative and operational services. This role requires coordination with onboard medical teams, adherence to operational standards, and implementation of quality assurance programs to enhance patient care and safety. The Medical Practice Manager will act as the primary liaison between shipboard medical teams and shoreside leaders for non-direct patient care matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

  • Manage daily operations of the medical facilities across multiple cruise ships, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality healthcare administrative and operational services.
  • Coordinate with onboard medical teams to ensure proper staffing, resource allocation, and adherence to operational standards to optimize care delivery.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between shipboard medical teams and shoreside leaders for non-direct patient care matters.
  • Provide regular updates on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators for medical facilities.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management, offering insights and recommendations for administrative and operational enhancements.
  • Develop and manage budgets for onboard medical facilities, including the procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Optimize resource utilization across multiple ships to maintain cost-effective operations without compromising patient care.
  • Ensure all medical staff are appropriately scheduled throughout the year.
  • Ensure the smooth handover of clinic operations between rotating staff.
  • Support training and development programs for medical facilities staff.
  • Conduct regular ship visits to assess operational effectiveness, provide support, and ensure alignment with company standards.

Process Improvement and Project Management

  • Identify and analyze operational inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and completion of key projects related to medical operations onboard medical facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, HR, procurement, finance, risk management, and brand senior leaders to successfully implement projects.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in operations, preferably in healthcare, maritime or remote setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality assurance standards, and operational best practices is preferred.
  • Proven experience with process improvement methodologies such as lean and Six Sigma strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time onboard cruise ships.
