Royal Caribbean Group's Global E-Commerce Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Ecommerce Engineering reporting to the Director, Technical Product Management.

Position Summary
As a Manager, E-Commerce Engineering, you lead engineers that are part of multidisciplinary Product teams to realize business outcomes via the development of software targeting rich user experiences. You will partner with Product Managers to manage multi-million-dollar capital budgets that drive a roadmap of features and enhancements to our customer-facing digital properties. You will own the technical roadmap, delivery, ongoing resourcing of technical resources, and the overall technical quality of the software products produced. You will be expected to participate in defining the technical and product vision to support a significant transformation targeting how consumers consider, purchase, and plan their cruise vacations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Mediate: Facilitate productive and positive team communication and collaboration. This includes but is not limited to: Fostering an environment of transparency and open discussion, resource planning, and working closely with other leaders and direct reports. Aligns team efforts with organizational goals.
  • Cultivate & Motivate: Mentor and support the professional, technical and personal growth of team members. Help develop their career path by assigning projects tailored to their potential, personality, work style, and goals while encouraging healthy exploration beyond their "comfort zone."
  • Accountable for the engineering function of the supervised product teams, with a focus on technical governance of transactional applications, maturing delivery practices, increasing the frequency of deployments, and expediting Product Deliverables while maintaining a sustainable work pace that does not compromise standards and quality.
  • Own the recruiting, assessment, and onboarding of new developers from a diverse pool of partners and markets.
  • Builds team culture by establishing norms and values collaborately. Set the example and expectations for team conduct. Inspire the team acting as a leader with positive behavior and interactions. When needed, directly address and resolve behavior that falls below expectations.
  • Own team processes to increase efficiency. Develop, measure, and interpret statistics that serve as team performance indicators. Use this information to drive continuous improvement initiatives while keeping compliance and security as first-class concerns.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
  • 7+ years of experience building and leading technical software development teams as part of career growth that started with hands-on software development.
  • 3+ years of experience managing software development teams in a highly structured or regulated environment with demonstrable experience maturing Compliance (SOX) and Security practices. Banking and DevSecOps experience a plus.
  • Passionate about people, processes, and technologies and able to inspire and motivate others.
  • Experience setting and achieving sound goals.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders and groups in the organization.
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of ownership, urgency, drive, and an unwavering commitment to do the right thing.
  • Proven leadership in facilitating complex discussions to achieve goals and solve problems.
  • Proven analytical and decision-making skills. Committed to support experimentation
