The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager of Capital Planning and Strategy reporting to the Senior Manager of Capital Strategy & Planning.

This position works on-site in Miami, Florida

Position Summary:

Royal Caribbean Group, a leader in the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality industry, is a fast-growing multinational cruise operator. The company is seeking a full time Manager of Capital Planning and Strategy in the Capital Planning department. The department controls and guides decision making for RCG's capital expenditures. Aligned with the Company's strategic planning process, the department provides a long-range plan for the capital asset portfolio as well as provides the tools necessary for business leaders to make investment decisions. The Manager is responsible for modeling the company's capital expenditures while forecasting associated Depreciation & Amortization and Capitalized Interest. Additionally, the Manager will analyze and provide recommendations for investment projects and complete ad hoc reporting assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the company's five-year Capital Expenditure forecast and strategy inclusive of Newbuilds, Revitalizations and Capital projects to be used both internally and externally to investors.
  • Oversee multi-year budgetary planning and management in alignment with the company's Strategic Plan. This includes the evaluation of investments using financial modeling and development of scenario analyses.
  • Develop and execute processes to allow for routine analytical review of Capital spend and performance to provide recommendations to Management and monitor monthly capital expenditure results through detailed variance analyses.
  • Develop a detailed Depreciation and Amortization forecast of the Company's multi-currency asset base which provides P&L responsibility.
  • Develop and report on a detailed Capitalized Interest forecast for the organization's large investments with a longer time horizon.
  • Develop and maintain a Net Book Value forecast for every vessel in the company's asset register, forecasting and tracking depreciation and investments that increase the asset base.
  • Work with Operating Groups to compile the Company's monthly write-off forecast by brand.
  • Liaise with Business Groups and Accounting to compile quarterly CIP confirmations and proper application of capitalization policies.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required based upon current company financial goals.
  • Manage at least 1 junior resource through both standard responsibilities and ad hoc analyses while mentoring shared resources across the team.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or similar; MBA preferred.
  • 5-8 years of work experience required in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Experience with Oracle Database and JD Edwards preferred.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to work well.
