The Royal Caribbean Group's Royal Caribbean International brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Project Engineer on the Private Destination Development Team reporting to the Senior Manager, Site Construction.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida and will require up to 25% international travel.
Position Summary:
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Site Construction and will oversee assigned land-based projects. In this role, you will oversee the entire construction administration for the assigned land-based project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews plans and other technical documents.
- Prepares Exhibits, list of drawings and specifications for contract document.
- Manages RFI and Submittal process, including updates of logs daily.
- Creates and manages drawings log.
- Manages all tests and inspections reports.
- Offers technical information to the project team to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Manages project documentation, including permit applications.
- Manages project punch list.
- Manages closeout documentation for the project (Certificates, Warranties, O&M Manuals, Spare parts, training).
- Understands appropriate building codes / regulations.
- Documents weekly project owner's meetings/decisions.
- Assists project managers with assigned tasks.
- Assists the site team during on-site meetings and visits.
- Maintains and regularly produces reports utilizing a combination of Project Management Software and Microsoft Office programs.
- Provides support in contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders negotiations.
- Attends and documents scheduled weekly progress meetings and other internal project/program meetings.
- Leads change management processes by updating logs.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required; construction management, engineering, architecture or similar.
- 3-5 years of experience in construction projects as a Project Engineer.
- Experience with commercial projects (retail, restaurant, hospitality).
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
- Demonstrate high standard of persona, accountability and integrity.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of building materials, detailing, construction techniques, building systems selection, related engineering principles, sustainability strategies and building codes.
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- Able to analyze structural, architectural, MEP and civil drawings.
- Able to analyze project specifications.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail and highly organized.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of the construction industry.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and ability to self-direct.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Primavera P6, MS Project, Autodesk or similar project management software.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
- Ability to effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
