Position Summary:
Silversea is the leader in luxury expedition cruises, offering guests unparalleled experiences in some of the most remote and spectacular destinations around the world. The Lead Expedition Product & Content Strategy will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive knowledge management strategy to enhance the educational and operational excellence of our expedition cruises. This role involves overseeing the collection, organization, and dissemination of knowledge, ensuring that all team members and guests have access to accurate and valuable information. The Lead will work closely with Expedition, Sales, Marketing, and Learning & Development teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and execute a knowledge management strategy aligned with the company's mission and goals.
- Identify key knowledge areas and create a roadmap for capturing, organizing, and sharing knowledge across the organization.
- Develop an improved strategy for Expedition Sales materials that are concise and digestible.
- Be the direct link between Expedition and Marketing, working to improve the website and communications with updated positioning and creative focus, also highlighting our Expedition Staff.
- Evolve integrated communication strategies and methodologies between Expedition Product, SMA functions, and the Knowledge Desk through centralized information repositories and sharing protocols.
- Content Management:
- Oversee the creation, curation, and maintenance of Voyage Educational Profiles, including lectures, guides, and multimedia materials.
- Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to the destinations and experiences offered on our cruises.
- Drive the workflow between Educational Coordinators, Expedition Leaders, and the Staffing & Training & Development teams.
- Smartsheet Management:
- Own and manage Smartsheet files that support the validation and enrichment elements of each voyage.
- Ensure Smartsheet is updated, accurate, and fit for sharing outside of the Expedition Product team.
- Contribute to the enrichment aspect of the Smartsheet document.
- Project Management:
- Oversee all knowledge management workstreams by partnering with the various external teams and stakeholders.
- Research and Development:
- Coordinate research for each workstream that integrates with the action plans.
- Coordinate the growth of a library of reading materials, reading lists, and educational materials for consumption by both guests and staff.
- Training:
- Develop presentation / public speaking / lecture training program to improve onboard lecture execution for Expedition Staff.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the high standard of educational content and knowledge dissemination.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in education, Environmental Science, History, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in knowledge management, content strategy, or a related role, preferably in the travel or expedition cruise industry.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in knowledge management tools and platforms, including Smartsheet.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for travel, exploration, and education.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
