The Royal Caribbean Group's Data Governance team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Lead Data Governance Analyst reporting to the Data Governance Manager.

This position will work on-site in Miramar, Florida and commute between Miramar and Miami office locations as required.

Position Summary:

The Lead, Data Governance Analyst is responsible for collaborating with a team of governance, legal/privacy, technology, and business stakeholders to support the implementation of data governance solutions in direct support of enterprise objectives. The ideal candidate for this role has a Data Governance background with functional and technical expertise.

This position's main objectives are to deliver lead analytical guidance on data stewardship and data quality solutions using standardized and best practice approaches for executing data governance improvements.

This role facilitates the implementation of data governance frameworks, monitoring data compliance, and leading discussions with cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity and privacy of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis
  • Perform data analysis to identify and document data requirements and collaborate with business data stewards to understand the related business processes.
  • Analyze data and ensure it complies with the enterprise data quality framework and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets and represent results on dashboards and reports.
  • Collaborate with subcommittees to establish governance workflows, approvals, and best practices.

2. Data Stewardship
  • Collaborate with business data stewards to gather, understand, and document functional requirements.
  • Create, document, maintain, and oversee data governance standards, policies, and solutions specific to data quality.
  • Monitor implemented data governance solutions for continued adherence to data governance standards and processes.
  • Develop a partnership with business data stewards to promote data governance best practices.
  • Champion the usage of approved metadata via training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

3. Data Quality
  • Execute the resolution of data integrity gaps by liaising with business and technical data stewards to address issues and improve processes.
  • Identify and document data quality requirements and rules.
  • Create, enhance, and ensure adherence to data quality standards.
  • Develop key performance indicators to monitor and track data integrity.
  • Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization to measure the quality of our datasets across multiple data domains and help monitor compliance.
  • Troubleshoot the source of data quality issues and provide a path to remediation.
  • Identify, define, and contribute to data quality process improvement efforts.
  • Design and execute data remediation measures and implement solutions for data accuracy and reconciliation.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates require a working knowledge of Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence concepts as it relates to Data Governance & Master Data Management, including:

  • BS Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Information Management.
  • 4+ years of reporting or data analytics experience or experience working in a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst position.
  • 2+ years in a role influencing the governance and delivery of data to end users.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL.
  • Qualified with Azure Cloud and Databricks technologies.
  • Experience in a modern programming language, such as, Python.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of data management principles, data quality assessments, and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Data Governance concepts including master and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with GDPR & CCPA/CPRA regulations.
  • Utilize working knowledge of data requirements to determine effective solutions to data governance and quality challenges.
  • Perform data analysis and reporting tasks using SQL and data analysis techniques.
  • Prepare functional requirement documentation capturing of data quality rules, processes, and procedures.
  • Mid-level knowledge of data governance best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mid-level understanding of data technologies and their application.
  • Expert-level data background and knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Adept at report creation, presentations, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively as part of a project team or individually.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to operate within multiple time zones.
