About the role

Overall Purpose and Objectives:

The FP&A Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the financial results and forecasts for the UK&I & EMEA region are accurate and fully understood, providing timely and insightful financial information and recommendations to the business to enable effective decision-making.

The role will be responsible for month end close, forecast, budgets and financial control, including balance sheet reconciliations.

Reflecting the pivotal position of the Finance and Commercial team within the organization, the FP&A Lead will work closely with key teams across the organisation; including Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Guest & Trade Services, Accounting & International Finance, to ensure that costs are understood, controlled and the business is clear of its performance against targets.

Specific Tasks and Job Duties:
  1. Lead the month end close process for the SG&A budget of c.$35m, ensuring all deadlines are met, figures are accurate and all variances understood and explained.
  2. Lead the on-going forecasting of SG&A, working alongside the Sales and Marketing teams.
  3. Own the forecasting of payroll and headcount.
  4. Lead monthly reviews with Cost Centre owners to ensure period results are fully understood and forecasts are updated accordingly.
  5. Regular review and analysis of spend vs forecast, highlighting risks and opportunities and recommendations for the optimal allocation of funds.
  6. Regular review of accruals to ensure the balance sheet position is accurate.
  7. Lead the annual budgeting process for the region, coordinating reviews with the Senior Leadership Team and ensuring all submission deadlines are met.
  8. Responsible for the quarterly commission balance sheet reconciliation process, working alongside Shared Services Finance and Commercial Leads.
  9. Work alongside the Commercial Leads to ensure the forecasting of revenue and commission is accurate and variances understood.
  10. Support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process, working with cost centre owners to develop budgets, feeding these into the planning process.
  11. Monitoring of purchase order and invoice approvals.
  12. Act as the Brand expert on Financial processes, supporting and training the teams.
  13. Prepare a monthly review of travel and expenses by cost centre, highlighting and challenging anomalies.
  14. Act as the key point of contact for the Internal Audit team, providing relevant information to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  15. The Finance & Commercial team are responsible for leading a number of on-going projects on which the FP&A Lead will be expected to play a mix of lead or support roles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
  • Full or Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a FP&A / Finance Analyst role.
  • Qualifications to Degree or equivalent.
  • MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to intermediate or advanced level.
  • Experience of JDE accounting system an advantage.
  • Experience of Essbase and Brio / Hyperion useful.
  • Experience of Power BI useful.

  • Must be able and willing to take ownership of tasks and work pro-actively.
  • Ability to focus on key priorities.
  • Good under pressure.
  • Good relationship building skills particularly internally with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to present themselves effectively at all levels including senior management & trade partners.
  • Good at identifying the problems and finding the solutions.
  • Ability to put their point across in a clear and concise way.
  • Proven analytical and commercial skills and results driven, with ability to think outside the box.
  • Team Player, highly motivated and positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
