The Royal Caribbean Group's Supply Chain team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Buyer II reporting to the Procurement Manager.

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.

Position Summary / Job Purpose:

The incumbent receives requests for goods/services and validates specifications with content experts or customers. They research alternatives for procurement of goods/services and works with Management, suppliers and customers to ensure proper selection and ordering.

Sources, negotiates, and procures goods/services for various commodity requests. Receives requests from content owners/shipboard or Shoreside customers and validates specifications/requirements. Seeks and offers alternatives for cost savings and timely delivery of goods/services. Manages supplier pool and works on special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Makes procurement decision and recommendations based on price, availability, transportation and delivery schedule.
  • Responsible for making decisions regarding the sourcing, negotiating and purchasing along with invoices and disputes.
  • Provides recommendations and analysis of proposed cost savings solutions for customer and management selection.
  • The Buyer II will have the authority to bind the company to a contract or deal.
  • Liaises with shipboard and/or Shoreside personnel, suppliers and logistics to ensure proper ordering and timely delivery of good and services to operational vessels or projects without interruption.
  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure consistent service, high quality and low costs of goods/services, and addresses deviations with management.
  • Processes contract orders in accordance to established terms and conditions and guidelines established for this commodity.
  • Responsible for researching and resolving issues including delivery failures, delivery discrepancies and invoices in disputes.
  • Responsible for meeting with customers regularly to provide status updates on open orders.
  • May travel to visit ships, suppliers or project site for loadings, audits, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • 3-5 years of procurement experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.
  • Negotiation and analytical skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
