The Royal Caribbean Group are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our local team!

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Lead, Finance AU & NZ, the primary focus of this role is to provide all necessary requirements, documents, and financial reports to satisfy regulatory, statutory, other external stakeholders, and internal management for the Australian and New Zealand business.

Furthermore, this position performs required functions relating to Accounts Payable (AP) invoice processing and Accounts Receivable (AR) for the Australian and New Zealand. The AP/AR Coordinator serves as main point-of-contact for all Accounts Payable/Receivable-related concerns and queries from external and internal stakeholders.

Moreover, this role is responsible for the credit and financial risk management which includes cashflow management and verification of bank transactions.

Lastly, the assistant accountant is responsible for Payroll processing and reporting and payroll-related activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Accounts Receivable and Payable
    • Receive AP-related documents (Invoices, SOAs, Billing statements, CMs, ORs, CRs, ARs, etc.) from vendors.
    • Update and maintain the log of invoices and monitoring the shared accounts inbox. File and archive AP-related documents in organized manner.
    • Review documents received for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local tax regulation and RCL policy (i.e. complete supporting documents, complete details, proper 'bill to', invoice#, invoice date, currency, correct calculation, etc.).
    • Code and route invoices for approval. Send approved invoices and supporting documents to Accounts Payable team for invoice posting and payment.
    • Vendor management including assistance with the accreditation process and sending out of payment advise.
    • Management of Direct Guest, Siebel Workflow, and Refund Payments.
    • Concur administration and troubleshooting.
    • Preparation of past due, penalty withheld, TA unapplied, and Paymode by-pass reporting.
    • Query management for AP and AR-related concerns from internal and external stakeholders.
    • Liaison between ANZ and International Offices for AP and AR-related processes
    • Other AP and AR-related compliance requirements as needed (CMO approval, Tax and Audit Support, etc.)
  2. Payroll
    • Liaise with HR and 3rd party payroll processor on the fortnightly payroll process to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs.
    • Prepare and/or process relevant payroll calculation, reconciliation, reports, and journal entries.
  3. Month-end Reporting and Tax Reporting
    • Provide assistance to the Brands and the Finance Lead by preparing relevant reports needed for the month-end closing cycle
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis, if necessary
    • Preparation of month-end checklist
    • Support the Finance Lead in the preparation and lodgment of all Statutory requirements for ANZ.
    • Other month-end and tax reporting and duties as required.
  4. Cash Banking and Management
    • Preparation of weekly cashflow forecast and processing of fund repatriation.
    • Resolve issues related to Bank Reconciliation prepared by International Accounting
    • Process manual payments in the bank as necessary.
    • Daily checking of bank transactions to ensure that there are no unidentified bank transactions.
    • Other banking and cash management projects and duties as required.
  5. Coordination and Assistance with Brands and FP&A
    • Preparation of Commission Audit Report.
    • Preparation of Payroll-related schedules for the Brands Forecast needed by FP&A.
    • Other tasks necessary to assist the Brands and FP&A to carry out their duties effectively.
  6. Projects and Other Tasks
    • Assist the Finance Lead in driving key internal and external projects as required.
  7. Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three-year accounting experience working in an Accounting Department
  • Automated workflow process experience a plus
  • Experience in ERP system, preferably Oracle, JD Edwards, and Tungsten
  • Experience in Microsoft applications required.
  • Excellent organizational communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to research and sort out information. Attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to make well thought out decisions, address and escalate priority situations and provide recommendations prompting resolution.
  • Must be able to function in a deadline-oriented environment, handle multiple tasks and work well with minimum supervision.
