This position will be working onsite from Miami.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Senior Data Analyst role plays a key role on the Trade Strategic Analytics team by providing data and decision support to the Royal Caribbean Sales organization. The Sr Data Analyst is responsible for providing analysis to aid both strategic and tactical initiatives related to Sales performance, promotional activities, and decision support. The Senior Data Analyst role is responsible for gathering data, using statistical analysis to identify key metrics, developing modeling, interpretation of sales data, and providing information and recommendations to sales leadership on both regular and ad hoc basis. The role will identify regional sales trends, forecast sales, recommend account level opportunities, lend analytical support to sales leadership in setting incentives/goals, and calculate and monitor performance to ensure sales effectiveness. The role works in conjunction with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Data Science to ensure cohesiveness with corporate goals and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of data. Analyze sales data to identify trends (i.e., regionally, by product, by account, by market, or by segment.
  • Develop, Implement, and enhance high impact business reporting through various business intelligence tools. Develop data models and projections to address complex business problems.
  • Use statistical analysis to identify key agency and guest metrics to help drive sales.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of sales databases.
  • Provide information and recommendations to leadership on both regular and ad-hoc basis.
  • Provide analytical support on tactical and strategic special projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for all levels of the department.
  • Develop productive working relationships with all Sales Managers, Directors and Executives as well as peers and other colleagues within the department and cross-departmentally.
  • Make decisions and ensure departmental metrics are tracked. Interpret data and make recommendations to sales management regarding sales strategy, process execution and revenue opportunities / risks. Provide decision support to Sales and business leadership through analysis and tracking of sales and product performance.
  • Communicate with other departments to assure that departmental policy changes or projects that will affect processes are identified and solutions are created.
  • Work with Data Analytics team to keep current on company data initiatives, technology, and best practices.
  • Work with Revenue Management to identify and report revenue opportunities and risks.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure alignment on consumer data modeling projects.
  • Track and report results against specific initiatives and programs and make recommendations on improvements in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop new and revise/maintain existing reports and operational procedures. Write or provide executive level analysis, reports and presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelors degree (BA) from four-year college or university or equivalent work experience required.
  • Two to five years related experience in data/business analysis, data science, marketing analysis or related field required.
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Masters degree (MS) preferred
  • Previous experience with Sales or Marketing preferred
  • Analytical skills to interpret data trends required
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Hyperion, and database systems required
  • Ability to program in SQL, Python, and R heavily encouraged
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (Azure, etc.), database management platforms (Oracle, Toad, DBeaver, Databricks), and BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, SAS)
  • Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy in data and analysis
  • Ability to effectively present information to executive management and public groups
  • Ability to work, interact, and communicate with external / internal customers at all levels.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Work on projects independently and as part of a cross functional team
  • Ability to solve complex problems with a variety of variables in situations where no standardization exists.
