Rockstar New York is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. This role combines leadership responsibilities – managing a talented and diverse team of developers – with the ability to contribute as a hands-on individual. This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.
WHAT WE DO
- The Core Security team is a global group of programmers specializing in dedicated to designing, implementing, and delivering advanced anti-cheat and anti-piracy technologies.
- The Core Security team collaborates with the broader development team to optimize game performance and ensure efficient use of system resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and lead a team of software engineers, guiding them to build and maintain products using C++
- Define team objectives and key results, create actionable plans to achieve them, and communicate progress through roadmaps to technical leadership
- Conduct performance reviews for team members, including regular check-ins to assess progress, give feedback, and realign priorities as needed
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of systems within the broader architecture
- Leverage the latest technical knowledge to guide the team in solving complex challenges and driving successful outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels
- Demonstrated ownership, proactivity, and drive to achieve objectives while leading a team to success
SKILLS
- Leadership and managerial experience
- Expertise in C++ development, with a focus on writing highly performant and efficient code
- Experience working with shared codebases and source control platforms
- Familiarity with Agile software development processes

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
