We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual to accelerate the development and expansion of products powered by Gen AI to democratize finance at an unprecedented pace. In this role, you'll play a key part in Robinhood’s forward trajectory, collaborating closely with our adept Data Science and Engineering teams. The Gen AI team is devoted to bridging the transition of Gen AI & ML modeling work into production-grade applications. Robinhood operates at the intersection of data-driven insights and technological innovation.

As Senior Software Engineer on the Agentic AI Team you will.....

What you’ll do

  • Design large scale systems within a team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
  • Lead, build, test, and release product-facing features with enterprise grade correctness and scalability requirements; these features could be related to market data, trading, accounting, authentication, or security.
  • Develop and implement AI-based products by using LLMs, to create next generation automation tools that can be leveraged both by internal teams and shipped as a part of the Robinhood apps
  • Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the product and fine tune our REST API to support millions of customers.
  • Rapid Prototyping and Iteration: Develop and test quick prototypes to validate concepts and optimize solutions prior to scaling.
  • Active contribution to open source projects.

What you bring

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong backend development expertise (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
  • Proficient with relational databases and transactions, and familiarity with writing highly concurrent systems.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and large language models
  • Hands on in cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP) and scalable system architecture.
  • Skilled in data processing and API integration. Experience building or scaling AI-powered platforms and agent-based systems.
  • Demonstrated history of providing firm-wide impact with self-sufficiency, as well as planning and leading large projects with long-term impact.
  • Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results which help the team to achieve its objective with excellent task prioritizations.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
